Frequently Asked Bee Removal Questions
How far will you travel to do a bee removal?
We will travel as far as we need to in order to give you the service that you need. We currently service North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia. Give us a call at 803-754-7577 to discuss your exact issue.
Why Can't I just plug the hole they are going in and out of? Won't this take care of the problem?
No...plugging the hole with caulk or expanding foam will not take care of the problem. In fact this will make it worse. When bees build comb in your wall or ceiling they can build as much as 6 feet of comb and store as much as 10 Gallons of honey. If you are successful at killing all of the bees (as many as 60,000) you have not only the comb and honey to worry about you also have 60,000 dead bees that can cause even more problems. This is called a "dead out" or dead hive. When the bees die they will decay causing horrible smells and stains on ceilings and walls. The uncured honey and bee eggs and larvae will also decay attracting other bugs and rodents. This whole situation can make a mess for you and an even bigger mess for the remover.
Do you kill the bees when you remove them from my home?
NO...We consider ourselves bee rescuers. We do not intentionally kill any bees in the process of the bee removal. In all, we save about 95% of the bees we remove. This isn't bad considering the number that could potentially be residing in your home.
How much does it cost to have bees removed from my home or building?
We charge between $150 and $750 depending on the complexity of the job. We will give you a written estimate on the job prior to starting any work.
How long does it take you to complete a bee removal?
It takes between 3 and 6 hours to complete each removal.
Do you repair the damage that you do when removing the bees?
We typically do not repair the damage that is caused when extracting the bees from your walls or ceilings. We do as little damage as possible and take care not to damage more then is absolutely necessary. We treat your home like it was our home.
How do I keep the bees from coming back again?
Part of our service is to give you instructions that will insure your success in keeping other bees away and the same thing from happening to you again. Each situation is different and we will instruct you accordingly.
Do you remove yellow jackets, hornets or wasps?
We typically do not remove anything other then the honey bee but we have been known to , on a case by case basis, take care of other bee problems for customers.
